AARP Foundation to offer free in-person tax preparation services at Yelm Timberland Library

Posted

With tax season quickly approaching, Yelm’s Timberland Library will offer free in-person tax preparation services and e-filing with help from AARP Foundation’s tax-aide volunteers.

The service is provided to taxpayers of all ages and incomes, and AARP membership is not required. The volunteers will be available at the Yelm Timberland Library by appointment only, beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 6 and concluding on Tuesday, April 9.

To make an appointment at the Yelm Timberland Library’s tax-aide site, call the library reference desk at (360) 539-3330, or visit the library. A tax-aide volunteer will call inquirers back within three business days, with the return phone call showing (617) 675-4444 in the caller ID.

Taxpayers must acquire a pre-appointment packet prior to the appointment and can find them at one of the tax-aide sites or by downloading it from the website before the appointment. The website is https://taxaide.aarpfoundation.org/online-self-and-assisted-prep.

The pre-appointment document provides information about services, preparing for the appointment, arrival instructions and includes several important forms that taxpayers must fill out.
