Yelm farm to participate in national Alpaca Farm Days

To celebrate alpacas, owners from across the United States, including a farm in Yelm, will participate in national Alpaca Farm Days Saturday, Sept. 28, and Sunday, Sept. 29.

The public is invited to come to La Vida Alpaca and Tahoma Vista Fiber Mill from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days to learn about the inquisitive animals, the fiber they produce and why the alpaca business is ideal for environmentally conscious people. La Vida Alpaca and Tahoma Vista Fiber Mill is located at 15631 159th Lane SE, just off of Vail Road in Yelm.

The farm will welcome guests to participate in many activities, including hand-feeding alpacas, petting them, posing for selfies, face painting and crafts for kids.

The mill will be open so visitors can see how the farm uses alpaca fiber to create finished items. Admission is free, but there is a small charge for some of the activities. People can cap off their day with a visit to the onsite farm store to shop for locally made products and everything alpaca, according to a press release.
