South Puget Sound Community College’s Cybersecurity and Network Administration Degree was designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by the National Security Agency (NSA) on Sept. 11.
With this designation, the NSA publicly recognized SPSCC’s commitment to academic excellence, community outreach and leadership in professional development, according to a press release.
“Achieving the CAE-CD designation provides us access to teaching resources, student competitions, faculty professional development opportunities, grant and transfer articulation options, and feedback from colleagues across the country,” SPSCC’s Dean of Applied Technology Jason Selwitz said. “We look forward to applying these new experiences and shared knowledge to continuously improve our program and provide opportunities to students.”
The designation will continue throughout the 2028 academic year. SPSCC’s Cybersecurity and Network Administration program will provide students access to a range of high-demand, high-wage career opportunities at both the regional and national levels, according to the press release.
The NSA CAE-CD designation can be awarded to regionally accredited academic institutions offering cybersecurity degrees and/or certificates at the associate, bachelor’s and graduate levels.
