For those intrigued by or in need of power equipment, J&I Power Equipment is hosting a Kubota-sponsored customer appreciation day from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26 at the business, J&I Power Equipment, 16150 106th Ave. NW in Yelm.

J&I Power Equipment’s field equipment and customer appreciation day will allow people to test out equipment such as tractors or zero-turn lawn mowers or construction equipment such as excavators on site.

“It’s a demo-type sales event where people can come and test the equipment if they want to. They can get on it and drive. We’re also using it as a customer appreciation event. We’ll be barbecuing from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. KAYO radio station will be here broadcasting and giving away Jason Aldean tickets,” Angela Longnecker, an owner at J&I Power Equipment, said.

She added that throughout the day, customers can enter to win different Kubota coolers, and hats will be given out throughout the day, as well. For the youngsters, Longnecker said they’ll be giving out toys.

This event also marks the first customer appreciation event J&I Power Equipment will host since the COVID-19 pandemic flipped the world upside down.

“We’re really excited about that. It’s been an annual event. This will probably be our fifth or sixth time, but it’s been a few years because of COVID. We could’ve had it last year, but we chose not to because of a lack of inventory,” Longnecker said. “We’re really excited to have inventory back in stock and that we’re able to give customers discounts. It’s refreshing and exciting to be back to the roots of being able to have customer, community events. I know the city and some other organizations have had them, and we’ve sponsored or participated in them, but to be able to have our own is exciting.

“For us, it’s a Kubota-sponsored event but we want to just show the community how grateful we are to be here, and how grateful we are for our customers and staff,” she added. “That’s why we include the free barbecue, snow cones and toys for the kids.”
