129903 Request For Bids REQUEST FOR BIDS CITY OF YELM 2024 ADA SIDEWALK RAMP REHABILITATION Notice is hereby given that the City of Yelm, Washington, will receive sealed bids through Thursday, May 23, 2024, until 2:00 p.m., at the offices of City of Yelm City Hall Services or by US Mail at 901 Rhoton Rd NW, Yelm, WA 98597. Bid proposals received via email, Telex or facsimile will not be accepted. Bid proposals received after 2:00 p.m. on said date will not be considered. City of Yelm Public Services office hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid deposit by a cashier’s or certified check or Bid Bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid deposit or bond shall be forfeited to the City of Yelm. To be considered responsible, the Bidder must meet all required criteria as listed in RCW 39.04.350. This Contract provides for the construction of the 2024 ADA Sidewalk Ramp Rehabilitation. Work will consist of removal and replacement of 62 existing sidewalk ramps to comply with ADA/PROWAG standards and in accordance with WSDOT standard plans for curb ramps and detectable warning surface, as provided in the Bid and Contract Documents. The existing 62 sidewalk ramps are at various locations throughout the City, as shown on the Location Map and Data Sheets, also as provided in the Bid and Contract Documents. The City may elect to add additional sidewalk ramps to the Contract, depending on available budget and the unit price submitted of an alternate unit price bid. A Notice to Proceed will be given to allow the Contractor to proceed with document review and materials procurement prior to physical site work beginning. Physical work shall begin within 30 days of the Notice to Proceed or the execution of a Public Woks Contract, whichever occurs later. The Contractor shall complete all work by October 31, 2024. The Contractor shall submit a final invoice no later than November 29, 2024. The estimated construction cost is $300,000 to $350,000. All bid proposals shall be in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders and all other contract documents. Any questions concerning the description of the work contained in the contract documents, including award documents, bonds, insurance must be directed in written form only to Patrick Hughes, P.E., via email at patrickh@yelmwa.gov prior to bid opening date. Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on “Posted Projects”, “Public Works”, and “City of Yelm”. This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer ake-off tool. It is recommended that Bidder’s “Register” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the “Self-Registered Bidders List”. Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project. The City of Yelm reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, waive any informalities or minor irregularities in the bidding, and determine which bid or bidder meets the criteria set forth in the Bid Documents.
